AFTERCARE POLICY

 

INTRODUCTION / PURPOSE OF AFTERCARE

Aftercare provides a positive, relaxed yet structured environment for our children after regular school hours. Aftercare encourages the values embraced by the school.

 

OPERATING TIMES

Aftercare starts on the first day of each term. There is no aftercare on the last day of each term, public holidays and during school holidays.

 

MONDAY – THURSDAY                     FRIDAY

Pre-Primary:      12h30 – 16:00        12h30 – 15:00

Junior Primary: 13:15 – 16:00          13h00 – 15:00

Senior Primary: 14:15 – 16:00          14h00 – 15:00

 

BASIC OPERATIONS

• Pre-Primary children are brought to aftercare by the class teachers. 

• Grade 1 – 7 children arrive independently.

• Children are signed in on the daily register by the Aftercare Teacher for each phase.

• There are designated facilities and venues available for each phase.

• A structured programme will be in operation (this includes snack time, rest time and activities).

• Children will require additional refreshments for aftercare.

• Children not collected after school will be taken to and signed in at aftercare.

• The parent or guardian picking the child up must sign their child out in the daily register.

• Should alternative arrangements for collecting your child be necessary, this must be confirmed with the Aftercare Teacher in advance.
